Kitchen Design

There are as many styles of kitchens out there as there are individuals to design them. As with any interior, your kitchen's décor is an extension of your character. Even the most minimal effort says something about the decorator. So when it comes time to remodel your kitchen, why not take a step back and reevaluate your cabinet design as well. What do you want your kitchen to say about you?

You can look around the world for a variety of different influences, borrowing traits and touches from Montana, Provence and Tuscany in equal measure. Depending on your inclination, you could have rustic cabinets featuring different shades of mahogany or cabinets with concealed hinges and modern, sleek lines. But regional spirit doesn't have to be the only influence on your décor. Look to your other interests and hobbies to inform everything from your salt and pepper shakers to what goes up on your fridge.

Retro-enthusiasts or mid-century modern collectors may want to invest in vintage ceramic decorations or old-fashioned trays and tableware that they can display on frameless cupboards. An appreciator of fine art may want to hang paintings and prints with culinary themes on their walls. The coffee enthusiast might take inspiration from Italian espresso ads, or maybe you'd prefer to go in an entirely new direction all your own.

Unique kitchen design and style is all about finding your own voice. And while it involves more than custom cupboards or drawers, that's not a bad place to start. Picking your cabinetry style will help set you on the road to revelations in décor and design. Once you've discovered that vision, go full-steam ahead. Remember that kitchen design is like a fingerprint, utterly unique, intricate and revealing.
