Try some color blocking in your home

Try color blocking in your home

Color blocking is one of the biggest trends in home design today. It has been seen on the runway and in magazines and has most recently jumped into home décor.

Integrating bold blocks of color into your home is simple - no patterns, just bright colors mixed into your interior design. Look at a color wheel and select two different colors. For a more subtle effect, you could go with two shades of the same color. If you're after drama, try choosing hues that are directly opposite each other on the color wheel, like purple and yellow. Here are a few areas of your space where you can try out this trend:

Rug
Add some modern flair to any room of your house with a rug filled with blocks of color. This complex shapes rug mixes retro shades with an eclectic design for just enough color.

Shower curtain
Bring bold colors into your bathroom with a simple interior design and a dramatic shower curtain filled with plenty of hues.

Pillows
Whether it's on your couches or your bedding, pillows are one of the simplest ways to integrate plenty of accents of color into your design. Arrange pillows of drastically different colors across your bed or sofa, creating a colorful focal point for the room.

Dinnerware
In your kitchen design, use dinnerware that follows the color blocking trend, like this square platter that is perfect for entertaining.
